Tail Rotor Drive
The tail rotor drive system takes engine power via the tail rotor drive shaft and reduces the rpm's for use in the tail rotor system through the tail gear box. This system consists of a series of segmented drive shafts supported by high speed bearings with flex couplings. This system isolates and allow for movement of the tail rotor dive segments in order to prevent failure of the tail rotor drive shaft due to vibrations and flexing of the tail boom in flight.
